The Brief
To design a premium-branded presentation box for Hive Media’s Bee Box product that ensures safe transit of delicate electronic components while delivering a polished, intuitive unboxing experience. The packaging also needed to accommodate accessories and guide users through a seamless setup process.
KEY INSPIRATION
The sleek, modular nature of Hive Media’s technology inspired a box that felt both practical and sophisticated. The idea of creating a “tech reveal” moment influenced the tiered compartment design and the inclusion of a QR code for an interactive digital user guide.
CHALLENGES
Ensuring robust protection for fragile electronics without compromising the visual impact and ease of unboxing. Designing the three internal compartments to neatly and securely store varying sizes of power leads and connectors required precise structural engineering.

Packaging is not just about protection—it’s a critical part of the brand experience. Integrating educational elements like a QR code adds value, while thoughtful compartmental design can elevate both utility and perceived quality.
THE BOX
A high-quality product presentation box designed to protect the delicate electronic component in transit, to give the recipient a stunning unboxing experience. The wrap-around QR code tag encourages the user to electronically access a ‘how-to-use guide’ before plugging in the device. Three base compartments allow ample storage to secure power leads and connectors. Corrugated cardboard construction, printed in full colour with water-soluble inks and fully recyclable.
THE OUTCOME
The Hive Media Control Bee Box succeeded in delivering both form and function. The secure, compartmentalised structure ensured product integrity during shipping, while the refined presentation and interactive setup experience left a strong first impression with users.
